This painting depicts one of my favorite memories of my youngest daughter when we stumbled upon a dark forest area, not hard to find in this area. To me, it looked dull and uninteresting but to her eyes, it was a world of wonder and magic. With each step, she would stop and examine the leaves, the rocks, and the trees. She was amazed by everything with her own story in her head of fairies and magic beings living there.

Time goes by so quickly, My oldest children were the same when they were little but now the magic and wonder has almost gone (hopefully temporarily) as they grow up but it reminds me to slow down, take a breath, and see the beauty in the world through my child's eyes and make the most of these fleeting moments.
